Dr. Craig E. Philip

Bio/Description

Professor Craig E. Philip ’75 S76 P06 has directed Vanderbilt University's Transportation Research Center since 2015 after retiring as CEO of Ingram Barge Company, the largest United States maritime company and a subsidiary of Ingram Industries. He serves on the board of ArcBest Corporation and multiple national and local nonprofit boards.

In 2014 he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, one of the highest professional honors accorded an engineer. He is a 1975 graduate of Princeton University School of Engineering. He has a Ph.D. from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is married to Marian Ott (Princeton class of 1976) and they have two children and a grandchild.
